Primary PE and Sport Premium  

Terms on which the premium is allocated to schools

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE, physical activity, and sport for the benefit of all primary-aged pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.

Schools must publish:

  1. the amount of premium received
  2. a full breakdown of how it has been spent
  3. what impact the school has seen on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment
  4. how the improvements will be sustainable in the future
  5. the percentage of pupils within their year 6 cohort that can do each of the following:

    • swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
    • use a range of strokes effectively (for example front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke
    • perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
